Erwin Tschanz's rifle. Ten years after I finished Ernie's rifle, I made one for his older brother Irwin. In that decade, I had learned a few things. Irwin's face adorns the sliding wooden lid. Iron butt plate, trigger guard, side plate, polished and engraved. Tim Chambers' round plate English lock, swamped .54 Getz barrel. That's Erwin's face in silver inlayed in the sliding wooden patchbox lid.
This is a great Colonial period longrifle. I visited it at least twice a year. When Jim Chambers came out with his round plate English lock, I could finally recreate this great gun!
